I'm Stephanie B. your Custom-tailor, couture expert and fashion designer. I have loved sewing and creating since I was a little girl.

Sewing has always been my favorite hobby, allowing me to disconnect and get in my own bubble while listening to my favorite music and let my hands do their thing. The final product - revealing an awesome outfit that made me feel great was the cherry on top.My mom always had a sewing machine at home. She will only use it for smalls repairs on our clothes and for making pillow covers here and there. She would let me use it until eventually I got my own sewing machine one Christmas... Not long after I was getting in trouble with my older sisters because their socks and pj's would disappeared only to later reappear as a Barbie doll dress.

My father is a very talented artist, he is a painter who raised the four of us by having a creative job - he worked as a marketing, graphic designer, he also was an art professor at Universidad de Artes Ganexa Panama. Painting with my dad growing up was quality time, Painting with acrylics is my second passion, my work is inspired by latin american folklore and diversity. I participated in one of my dad's art exhibition where I sold my first painting at 5 years old. My grandmother, my father's mom, was a professional seamstress and did it as a job. The interesting part about this is that I never got the chance to meet her in person but I got it on my veins.

My goal is to blend my painter skills with my sewing and fashion good eye, and bring the perfect marriage of my two passions creating beautiful joyful shapes and patterns.

I was born and raise in Panama. I studied law in college ( Derecho y Ciencias Politicas en la Universidad Latina de Panama)... a career that my parents recommended me pursue which I began doing just to make them happy. College years were challenging. During this time mother was diagnosed with breast cancer and passed away in 2004... my last year of college.

Soon after the tragic loss of my mother I moved to Chicago where I was signed by a recognized model agency and worked as a model while going to school to learn English. I was blessed to have the opportunity to study for a year in North Western University with a free ESL program they offer for immigrants that live in the college area of Evanston, IL. When working as a model in Chicago I was getting more joy from getting to wear all the beautiful gowns and designer's creations than from modeling itself.

Working with so many talented designers I saw how creative they were using their talents, being different, being themselves to the fullest, proudly presenting their different points of view, crazy ideas, and most of all by sharing their work. In my mind they were creating so many happy faces, making people feel beautiful when they look and feel good in what they wear, helping them express themselves through fashion, creating memorable moments... I wanted to use my talents to make others feel great and smile too.

One of the designers I modeled for needed help at her shop. Since their were so many wedding dress orders she was feeling overwhelmed. After modeling in many runways for her I felt confident enough to tell her I could also sew and would love to help. I worked at her workshop and bridal store and got to learn a great deal from her. She is so talented and she liked to listen to beautiful old music while sewing just like me. I was mesmerized and saw me in her. From that moment I knew exactly what I wanted to do and what to manifest. I finally decided to be brave and fight the odds and make my favorite hobby my job. Now, years later, I am doing what I love out of my custom container studio in the city of Los Angeles while raising two awesome kids.

I'm an artist and seamstress who takes great pride in my job and puts love and passion into every piece I work on. I can tailor and craft a garment from scratch or alter an existing outfit to change the style or simply flatter the person who wears it, no matter their body type.

I believe that with creative sewing skills, and a great eye for fashion, style, expertise on looks, elements of style, aesthetics I can help you look your best.

I have work in the fashion industry for 20+ years. I can help your modify your clothes, bring your vision to reality or design something epic for you while making you look your best, altering your garment to fit like a glove.

About Me

The Creative Bee shop

Where the magic happens...

We builted the cutest shop out of a shipping container, we called "Creative Bee" where you can "Bee creative"... and where art and fashion meet.

A shipping container turned out to be the perfect space for a good creative energy flow.

We loved creative Eco-friendly concepts and repurposing a container for the shop was a sustainable choice, reducing waste and the demand for new construction materials, and even better allow me to have a business and work from home and it has it's own entrance.
